About Dr. John Brajkovich PDF Print E-mail
Dr. John Brajkovich is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, a degree he earned at the University of staff-12.pngGuelph in 2000. He is certified by the CVO - College of Veterinarins of Ontario. As of April 2005, Dr John has completed an intensive course in advanced orthopedic surgery certifified by Ohio State University . Dr John is a member in good standing with the Veterinary Orthopedic Society which allows him to keep up to date with the latest techniques in orthopedics and traumatology.

The majority of orthopedic surgeries performed at Caledon Mountain Veterinary Hospital involve cranial cruciate ligament injuries. The Gold standard for surgical correction of these injuries is a procedure referred to as Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy or TPLO. Dr. John is certified to perform TPLO surgery through specialized training from Slocum Enterprises and has performed over 500 TPLOs. Recently a newer technique has been adopted for the repair of cruciate ligament instability referred to as TTA (Tibial Tuberosity Advancement). This technique, has proven to have excellent postoperative results with most dogs walking normally within 2-3 weeks post operatively. Dr John has additional certification from the University of Guelph in External Fixation, as well as certification for Internal Fixation from AO- ASIF.

After successfully completing his Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology at Guelph University, John went on to graduate from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2000. After graduation John worked at a veterinary clinic in Bolton, Ontario where he gained valuable knowledge of the business and then decided to open his own animal hospital in Caledon his childhood hometown of 22 years. The Caledon Mountain Veterinary Hospital opened its doors in March of 2001. Dr. John, as his clients know him, has a special interest in orthopedic surgery.

Residing in Hillsburgh, Ontario, with his wife Dana, daughters Maja, Milanja and son Moses, Dr. John Brajkovich is a family man who grew up with dogs his whole life and carries that love for animals with him into his current practice.
